Milk's July Moosletter Welcome to our July edition of our moosletter. We hope you enjoy it and don't forget to enter the competitions! Weekly Theme Rundown By Bobbi Jo & Haley Super Heroes Week - Is it a bird? A plane? No it's your babyz! Milk kicked off the mid-summer month celebrating everything super. Featuring Liz's Lottie, this week honored superheros. A lot of kids were decked out in superhero costumes and t-shirts. Fashion Week - Look at all those sexy babyz! Members celebrated everything dealing with fashion by holding several competitions and hexing some pretty stellar new threads. Jen hosted a clothes competition, Project Runway, where members hexed some really awesome new clothes. Kristy won first place and Trisha won second place. New clothing sets appeared all throughout the week. This layout featured LK's Lola. Our lovely Owner Jen had a birthday during this week as well! Christmas In July Week - ho says you can't have Christmas in the summer? This week was dedicated to the Christmas holidays. What a perfect week for it too as it fell right around the 25th of the month. Haley's Taylor looked simply adorable in his reindeer costume on this layout. The northern wind flew in this week. The bright and cheerful Milk was coated in icy blues and whites. A wonderful way to chill after all the hot summer days we've had lately. Dr. Seuss Week - Crazy, silly, nutty, it's a wonder why we haven't had a Dr. Seuss Week sooner! Milk bumped up the fun for a zaney week celebrating the wonderful Dr. Seuss. Twins renamed themselves Thing 1 & Thing 2 for the occasion. Kids dressed in ridiculous mismatched clothes and flaunted Seuss-ish tee shirts and jumpers. Theme Contest by Sara This is a one-time contest, so make sure to take advantage! We have a ton of fun themes lined up for you, but we thought it would be fun to give the wonderful members of Milk a chance to come up with something they want to see as well! Be as original and creative as possible, and make sure to go into detail so that we fully understand your ideas! Please PM the form below to the Mooderator account! Your Name: Name of your theme (ex. The winner's theme will be used during Autumn term, and they'll receive 100 bells! For participating, you will receive 20 bells! PSP Tutorial - Stitched Text by Lynn Want to create text that looks like this? Now you can!! Step 1: Create an image [I do 400 x 400, but you can choose whichever size image suits your text]. Make sure that the background is transparent. Step 2: Click the text tool. Choose a filler color and an outline color. On the text toolbar, match your settings to mine. The line style can be anything you'd like, but for the stitches effect, the "small dash" line style is the best option. Your text should look like this: Step 3: Create a new layer, fill the background with the filler color [pink, in the example], then place the background layer underneath the text layer. Step 4: Copy the text layer, and paste as a new selection [ctrl + e {in PSP X}]. Click once to place the text onto the new layer, but make sure that the "marching ants" are still in effect. Move the background layer inbetween the two text layers, making sure that the copied text is the top layer, as shown. Step 5: Make sure that the "floating selection" layer is selected in the layer palette, then go to "Selections -- Modify -- Expand -- 2 pixels". Then click down, copy&paste, delete the original text layer and the background color layer, and voila! You should have the first part of your stitched text! Step 6: Create a new layer, but this time, fill the layer with the outline color [black, in this case], then move the background layer beneath the text layer. Repeat steps 4 & 5, and you should end up with this: If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! Style Column By Faye A lot of great clothes hexing went on this month.
